Update from Govardhan, November 9th

Dear devotees,



Please accept my dandavat pranams. All glories to Srila Gurudeva and Srila Prabhupada. All glories to Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga. All glories to Sri Sri Radha-Vinodehariji.



I am writing this report earlier than usual, since today is an important day. It is the Disappearance Day of Paramapujyapada Srila Vamana Maharaja and Srila Trivikrama Maharaja, and some devotees have been in anxiety about what will happen today.



Again Srila Gurudeva rested well last night. We have had a few darshans on the large screen in the temple room. During the darshans, he has mostly been resting lying down completely, or slightly propped up. Many new initiates had darshan of Gurudeva from a distance. That is to say, they came into the large room, and saw Srila Gurudeva in his room.



Srila Gurudeva’s condition appears to be completely stable and steady, with a slight improvement over the last few days. The mood amongst devotees here is changing. When Srila Gurudeva first arrived here in Govardhan, many devotees felt that his disappearance was really imminent. In fact, many thought that Srila Gurudeva had himself decided to come to Govardhan specifically to leave. That conviction is changing. I overheard a conversation between two older devotees. One said, “I don’t know what’s going on now. My paradigm is changing.” “So is mine,” the other replied.



We may continue to pray to Giriraja Govardhan and our guru-parampara for Srila Gurudeva’s health and strength.
