HOW DO WE AS ASPIRING DEVOTEES SERVE THE HOLY NAME?

Holy Name should emerge from the core of the heart of the votary. By the company of bonafide pure devotee, causeless devotion to God will be revealed in the heart of the votary, i.e. causeless devotion will be manifested in the soul of the votary. Retaining misconceptions of self, no Bhakti can be done.
Association of bonafide Sadhus is essential for doing any kind of Bhakti. In Srimad Bhagavatam (6.1.15) Shukdev Goswami said to Parikshit Maharaj— ‘O king! A vicious person cannot be so much sanctified by expiation of karma or jnana as much he will be so by taking unconditional submission to Sri Krishna. How one can get that unconditional submission— only by service of a pure devotee, a bona fide surrendered soul.’
