Srila Bhakti Vedanta Baman Goswami Maharaj Ji appeared in this world on December 23, 1921 in East Bengal(now Bangadesh). In March 1931 at the tender age of just nine years he joined Sri Chaitanya Math In Mayapur. Thereafter, he received his spiritual education from Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Prabhupada ji under the kind guidance of Sri Vinoda Behari Brahmchari (Srila Bhakti Pragyan Keshab Goswami Maharaj). In August 1936 He received Harinam from Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Prabhupada.
After the dissappearance of Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Prabhupada in 1937 He received Diksha from Srila Bhakti Pragyan Keshab Goswami Maharaj in 1939. He took Sanyasa from Srila Bhakti Pragyan Keshab Goswami Maharaj in 1952.
Thereafter he preached all across India, especially in the eastern part of the country. He was appointed as President - Acharya of Sri Gaudiya Vedanta Samiti in October 1968 by His Gurudev, Srila Bhakti Pragyan Keshab Goswami Maharaj, himself. He established about 35 Preaching centers, Maths, all over India.
On the intervening night of November14-15, 2004, a day after Sri Goverdhan Pooja He entered into the transcendental pastimes of Sri Sri Gaur Radha Vinoda Behari Jiu leaving behind thousands of his god brothers, disciples and followers in a state of shock and immense grief.
