Update from Delhi and Govardhan, November 2nd

Nemi Bhaktivedanta

Dear devotees,

Please accept my dandavat pranams. All glories to Srila Gurudeva and Srila Prabhupada. All glories to Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga. All glories to Sri Sri Radha-Vinodehariji.
...
Yesterday, Madhava Maharaja and Brajanath Prabhu informed devotees that Srila Gurudeva had requested them to make arrangements for him to go to Govardhan. This morning he left his room in a wheel chair, blessed all the assembled devotees, and was placed in an ambulance for his journey to Govardhan. On arrival, he was taken to his room to rest. Doctors from Delhi are in attendance.

Previously it was understood that Srila Gurudeva would go to Govardhan if he had recovered sufficiently to be in a good and healthy condition. Alternatively, he would go if he was in crisis, and was going there for his final pastimes here with us. In other words, it would be either good news or bad news. Brajesh Prabhu said that as of last night, there was no especial change in Srila Gurudeva’s condition one way or the other. His condition remained “stable.” (That means that his medical condition has not substantially changed for several days, but it does not mean that he is in a stable, recovered condition.)

It is difficult to get definite information at the moment regarding the reason for Srila Gurudeva’s abrupt decision to go to Govardhan. The decision does not appear to be the result of a sudden change in Srila Gurudeva’s medical condition. Furthermore, according to the bulletin by Madhava Maharaja and Brajanath Prabhu yesterday, it was Srila Gurudeva himself who requested the transfer to Govardhan. This seems to take us back to the message we received on 10th October this year: “Under the present circumstances, it is possible that Srila Gurudeva may enter final Samadhi at some time this month. …. Srila Gurudeva has expressed his desire to go there (Govardhan).” It indicates that we should prepare ourselves for the possibility that Srila Gurudeva has himself made some decision about his stay with us. Hopefully, this will become clear in the near future.

Aspiring for service to Sri Hari, Guru and Vaishnavas,
B V Nemi
